Swedish Peace Agency(SPA) working to ensure that all development finance institutions respect human rights. We strive to bring more coordination to a global movement led by communities and supported by civil society organizations.
SPA works to support members’ advocacy at the local, national, and international level. We helps to bridge different communities and to bring in new voices to this work, connecting the human rights and development arenas, and ensuring that advocacy is informed by and accountable to frontline communities and grassroots groups most impacted by development activities.

Swedish Peace Agency a platform to leverage Coalition members’ expertise and resources to support common campaigns and advocacy objectives, amplifying the voices of communities and maximizing the individual strengths of member organizations.
Swedish Peace Agencys members engage collaboratively through one of four workstreams:
Community Level: Capacity building and technical support with communities facing development-related human rights issues. Regionalizing and internationalizing local campaigns, and providing support for community-led development plans.
National Level: Advocacy, research, mobilizing, technical support, and communications strategies to incorporate human rights standards into the policies and practices of national development banks, export credit agencies, and national development agencies.
International and Regional Level: Advocacy, research, mobilizing, technical support, and communications strategies to incorporate human rights standards into the policies and practices of the World , International Monetary Fund and regional development institutions. This includes direct policy advocacy with the institutions as well as national level advocacy with member states.
Re-Defining Development: Agenda-setting, research, and strategic communications to change the way development is conceived, to amplify the voices of those most affected by development projects and policies, and to promote people-centered, community-led development.
